Israel First Hand Tour Guides Are Local Experts

When traveling someplace unfamiliar you need to take a few things into consideration. Do I speak the local language? If not, will I be able to get around with English?  Do I know what is worthwhile to do and see? Can I get there on my own?

Traveling with a private IFH guide has its benefits. Our guides are native English speakers that also speak Hebrew. The best of both worlds over here in Israel. They are friendly, personable and very knowledgeable about all things Israel. They work with you directly before you arrive, planning your trip to meet your needs, specifications and goals. They are plugged in to the best way to navigate traffic patterns, create alternative plans to deal with unforeseen weather conditions, get the best rates on sites and attractions and, of course, they know where to get the best Israeli (or if you are traveling with picky eaters – American) food to eat.

Be in touch if you would like more information about our tour guides. Aryeh, our lead guide, would be happy to speak with you personally to see if hiring a guide is the best option for you.

Our Tour Guiding Services

Before your tour, before you even get to Israel, your personal guide will research and plan your trip. This planning service is included in the price of guiding and provided at no additional cost for trip days when you use one of our personal guides.

For more information on how trip planning works, have a look at our Trip Planning Services page.

Getting around in a foreign country doesn’t have to be complicated. For those that don’t want to navigate is alone, we are happy to pick you up straight from the airport. Our guides can transport you to all your travel destinations and then deposit you safely back at the airport at the end of your trip.

For more information about getting around, see our Transportation Services page.

Perhaps you’re well versed in where to go and what to do and you only want a guide for a half a day to visit a specific site. Or you are coming for 10 days and need a guide for every minute of that time. No job is too big or too small. We are happy to provide guiding services for all kinds of trips, including one off excursions or multi day group tours.

Sometimes things don’t go according to plan. It suddenly rains, even though the rainy season was over a month ago. One of our kids isn’t feeling well from the flight and needs a low key day to recover. An attraction we were all set to visit is closed, without warning or notice.

This is where having a personal guide can really save the day. Short of controlling the weather, we are well versed in the dance of changing plans on the fly to accommodate unforeseen circumstances.

People are diverse and have different interests and attention spans, especially when those people are little. Our guides are good at keeping kids’ interest and planning trips that are fun and engaging for all ages. It doesn’t need to be stressful traveling with family members that have specific needs.

For ideas on how a family trip might flow (we customized trips for all of our clients) have a look at our Family Trips page.

When to Use a Personal Guide

Using a guide is best when you want a personalized itinerary – catering to your specific interests, with the freedom to tour according to your own schedule, maximizing your time and having the benefits and security of a local expert.

When to Take a Prepackaged Tour

If you are on a very tight budget and you feel confident that a generic itinerary will meet your needs, a group tour can be a good option. Just keep in mind that you have to be flexible enough to adhere to the group’s schedule.

When to Go it Alone

If you come to Israel regularly, speak a little Hebrew or have relatives that can show you around, you may be able to manage without a guide for many of the popular tourist sites.
